The E-Commerce Merchandiser reports to the E-Commerce Director and will perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to building and merchandising digital content, developing and executing marketing and promotional strategies of the online store.  The E-Commerce Merchandiser will work closely with logistics, customer service, as well as other operational functions to consistently improve efficiencies, enhance the customer experience and support sales growth forecasts and projections.

Essential Functions

  • Manage new product uploads, category builds, product detail maintenance, and promotional activities. 

  • Monitor product category performance and track product assortment changes to identify areas with opportunities for growth.

  • Engage highly in UAT site testing for development projects and the regular site walks to ensure content accuracy and consistency.

  • Write solid marketing product descriptions and promotional copies while using best practices of SEO.

  • Collaborate with the E-Commerce team for onsite optimizations such as product recommendations, upselling/cross-selling opportunities, and search improvements.

  • Perform tasks associated with the daily coordination of E-Commerce marketplace activities; i.e. product uploads, reporting, and organizing stock transfers.

  • Report on E-Commerce performance including KPIs, providing data-driven insight, and conducting deep dives to better understand shopping behaviors and trends, through the use of online analytics tools, such as Google Analytics.

  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.


  • 1-2 years’ experience in online digital merchandising.

  • 1-2 years’ experience in digital marketing text copy or content development role.

  • 1-2 years’ experience on an E-Commerce platform, Shopify a plus.

  • Knowledge of use of analytical tools for performance measurement.

  • Ability to extract data and make sound recommendations for improvement and innovation, Google Analytics experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of E-Commerce UX, content and development projects, and intuitive knowledge of how users interact and shop online and in digital environment.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of MS Office Suite.

  • NetSuite skills preferred.

  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken and written communication.

  • Must be detail-oriented, careful to complete tasks accurately, highly organized, and able to prioritize.

  • Must be honest, ethical, and have a high level of integrity.

  • Must be pleasant, able to build effective working relationships, good-natured with a cooperative attitude.

  • High degree of accuracy and great attention to detail.

Physical/Mental Requirements and Work Environment

This position is primarily sedentary working in front of a computer in an air-controlled environment.  Frequent use of eyesight, fingering, and ability to sit for long periods is required.
